It was a wonderful experience, and I really thought about counting it as our homeschool for the day, but even though it's a good lesson in biology and animal husbandry, it's not going to teach my kids to read. It was a fun break for a while, though!!
We couldn't resist, and it didn't seem to bother her, so the whole family gathered to watch, including two other cats and a BIG dog!
The kids thought it was the neatest thing, (and so did I) but they were more than a little grossed out when the mama cat suddenly began to eat the placenta!
That didn't stop Angel-Leah from getting really up close and personal, though!
My favorite comment came right here, when Angel-Leah saw the baby kitten at it's mothers back legs, and she cried out, "It's trying to go back in!!"
The results so far, three beautiful kittens, including a gray one, which I am greatly hoping looks like it's great grandma Bonnie, who was my favorite cat, and disappear a year or so ago.And while we are on the subject of new animals, remember a few posts back when I said I was going to simplify, and not get any more goats? Well...
I didn't mean to tell a lie, but honestly, Utterly Divine Dairy offered me a really good deal, and the third time is the charm, right? We'll see...But for now, anyway, my girls have a new young husband!
I really love spring. It makes even my place look good, big purple castle and all! This is the life...
Just beautiful, Carla! Love, Lori S.
